Before you start
YouTube and Chords on video (beta): free on 3 songs a month, unlimited with Pro/trial. Loop timing and ramp playback still need real Chrome verification.
Steps
- In Studio, enable Chords on video. To see every chord at once, press Chords for the whole song: the video plays once, muted and at 4× (about a quarter of its length), and returns to where you were. The grid button next to ✕ opens the chord chart, with diagrams, beside the video and following it; if it only has the part already played, Complete the chart reads the rest. Over the video, mark A at the start of your passage.
- Move forward and mark B at least half a second later. The passage repeats. Press B again to clear it. Quick 4/8 loops use available beat/tempo estimates.
- Set Speed to 0.75×, then press Practice in the overlay. With tempo available, a four-beat count-in precedes playback.
- The ramp shows its starting speed, 100% target, step and current loop. By default it starts at 75% and adds 5% per loop. In Studio → Chords on video → Practice settings choose the start (50–90%), the step (+2, +5 or +10%), how many loops per step, and whether the key goes up or down a semitone each step (at most 5; it comes back when you stop).
- Cancel restores the speed and playback/pause state from before Practice. Save song opens a Library draft; press Save there to persist it.
Expected result
A–B remains expressed in video time while the playback speed changes. Verify the boundaries by listening.
If it does not work
Choose a loop before Practice. If the chord labels are wrong, treat them as beta estimates and correct the printable chart. Its Export menu copies the chart as text or downloads it as MIDI; Simple chords hides the sevenths. Do not use chord labels as proof of the key.
Access
The A–B loop is free; video chords are free on 3 songs a month. Quick 4/8-bar loops, markers, ramp and Library are Pro/trial. Piano, tap tempo, metronome and microphone tuner are Free.
